Andrew and the woman walked out of the bathroom with whispers and smiles exchanged between them, moments after Stephen had managed to duck into the closet and closed it with just enough of it left open for him to get a clear, unobstructed view of the bed. He watched as the woman turned and glanced over her shoulder at the very door he was looking out of and, for a moment, thought she had spotted something.

"Andrew...did you leave the closet door open?" she whispered, reclining into her man's arms but looked over his shoulder.

For his part, Andrew buried his head against her neck and gently dismissed her question as his attention turned towards the woman on the bed. Stephen thanked whatever gods were watching over him as she let the issue go and turned her focus back on the man making love to her.

He didn't know how long he sat there and watched, maybe an hour or so, but eventually both of them were silent as the woman reached over and turned off the light, casting the room into darkness. Stephen sat there for a few more moments to make sure nothing would happen before he crept out of the closet and slid his way effortlessly to the bedroom door. Another moment, he was out of it and only after he reached the stairs did he get back up onto his feet and disappeared up it.
