Stephen shook his head and walked back upstairs. Even in the darkness of the house, he could sense something was different about things...all starting with his dad stepping into the box. But his dad had done it when no one was around, that was certain, but how did that affect his mom? Who was that woman really? There were so many questions but all he could think about was what to do about the box randomly doing things.

He walked back into his room and breathed a sigh of relief at seeing the box where he had left it, in the state he had left it, and after making sure it was contained in a locked drawer in his desk, he fell asleep.

When morning came, he quickly got dressed much earlier than usual, grabbed some bread from the counter, and headed out the door before he could run into anyone he didn't care to know or talk with. He barely even recognized the wave from his neighbor Linda before he barreled down the driveway and sped off towards the man's address, the one who gave him the box. There had to be something up with this ... thing in his possession. There just had to be...
