About This Interactive
The owner of this Interactive Story begins with this information and guidance:
I'm an 11-year-old, ready to start school at Ravenscroft Academy. It's a rather exclusive school, more so than most. Not because of racial or financial restrictions, but because it's exclusively for the teaching of witches.

Of course, you've gotta have rules:

1) First person, past tense.

2) Don't kill the main character.

3) Sex, if age-appropriate, is fine, but don't go into detail.

4) Keep the language PG-13.

5) Pop-culture witches are fictional characters in this story. Don't introduce anybody to Harry Potter, the Halliwell sisters, etc.

Here's a short glossary for the less-familiar words we'll be using:

athame: A ceremonial dagger, used for drawing magick circles or cutting or carving for sacred purposes. Must be handled with great care; if the athame ever draws blood - even accidentally - it will be useless for magick.

Blessed be: A common salutation among witches. May be used as greeting or farewell.

Book of Shadows: The spellbook of a witch or coven, so called because it should be kept hidden.

Bright blessings: A variation on Blessed be. Some witches only use one term, and some use one for greeting and the other for farewell.

cowan: A person who is not a witch. Singular or plural.

magick: This spelling is used to distinguish between witchcraft and stage magic.

Here are a couple of characters to get started:

Alex Weaver was brought up Wiccan, so he's used to his parents not being like others in the neighborhood. On his eleventh birthday, however, he learns that his mother is an actual witch. Moreover, he's a witch, too, and must go to Ravenscroft to learn magick.

Winnie Alexander was brought up in an evangelical household, taught that anything to do with witchcraft was the Devil's work. So it's a bit of a shock when it seems that a clerical error has sent her to Ravenscroft. It's a bigger shock, though, when they tell her that she is also a witch.
