Raine pointed a twisted finger to the table in the small kitchen of her home, motioning for the two to follow. Dauphin, Raine and her husband took their seats around the dusty table. The chairs slid on the floor with barely any sound at all. On the table sat a big wooden bowl with clear, still, bluish water filled to the brim inside.
“Now.” Raine spoke the silence apart, “Tamor, he stayed in this house for about two weeks, hiding from King Rabinoth’s men. The king had been tracking Tamor down for the longest time. It’s terrible… Tamor, he knew what the King had in store for the land. As you know, he was the last Druid of the lake at Wonradolk. Neither his brother, nor the people would tell the king where Tamor was, so the king’s men burned his village and staked his bother.”
“What did Tamor know?” Dauphin asked.
“We’re not sure. Tamor had kept it from us, though we tried he wouldn’t give up much, said it would be too dangerous for the wrong hands to get a hold of. There is talk around town, about the king’s plot, but I don’t know what to make of it, or believe. Some say that… which is the most believable of all stories… is that the king has conspired, with his councilmen’s help, to resurrect the evil black robed Mage of Concored, who was banished in the war of Nables. Tamor said he was found out through the king’s messenger spy, to have sworn oath to the protection of the land and the king. The king is evil and dangerous. Be protected at all times.” Raine sparked a warning.
“I will.” Dauphin said, looking at the floor. She felt uneasy, even though she promised to save her friend the Druid, she didn’t know if she should get involved. Upon instruction to her room, she set her belongings by the bedside and lay down to sleep. Where will this story go next? Your choices are below...
