Your mother comes back into the kitchen and raids the fridge, pulling out armloads of food and putting it on the table. She puts a full ham into the oven and while it is cooking she starts stuffing herself with the previous week’s leftovers. Your dad sits down and eats with her. You and Travis stare at him until he finally speaks to you.
“Why don’t you boys make a pizza run. Your mother seems famished.” he smiles deviously, “Take this and buys as many larges as you can.” He passes 300 dollars to you in hundreds. You take another look over at your mother who is ripping into a chicken leg before you leave.
You and Travis hop into the car and take off. “We need to get the Wishing Powder back before my dad uses it more.” you tell Travis.
“You probably shouldn’t have used it again while your parents were around.” he says.
While at a red light you dial Pizza Hut and order 25 large pizzas. You continue to the restaurant and sit in the parking lot until your pizzas are ready. You start the car as Travis and an employee load the boxes into the car.
When you get back home your dad greets you at the door.
“Hey boys, I’ll bring in the pizzas. Why don’t you just go upstairs.” He ushers you straight to the stairs.
You and Travis hang out in your room and try to formulate a plan.
“Assuming that your dad eats most of the food he would fall into a deep sleep, like at Thanksgiving.” Travis says.
“Wait! Swizzle must have more Wishing Powder. If we buy more than maybe we could wish his powder away. When Mike gets home he can help” you add.
