Jimmy Kudo took careful aim with his wristwatch and aimed it roughly at Richard Moore's neck. As usual, Richard Moore was at another murder case (it had been 5 months after their last case) and this one was indeed baffling--even for Jimmy at first. As usual, Jimmy--or rather Conan Edogawa--didn't piece together the clues until it was almost to late. It came to him suddenly as usual and was about to reveal the identity of the killer. Conan did shoot the dart without anyone noticing--as usual--which was a feat. The room was filled with perhaps a dozen people, all who were suspects in the murder case at the chemical company. But only one person was guilty of the crime and one truth shall once again prevail. Unluckily, Richard chose at that moment to lean against the couch beside him, which was far enough away for the dart to completely miss its target and sailed harmlessly into the wall...near the guilty person in fact. The murderer--or who Conan thought as the murderer--was a woman in her mid-30's with an unusually large stomach. Earlier in the day, the woman--Sally Radcliffe--had told Conan that she was pregnant with twins. She had volunteered this information during a lull in the investigation. Conan--playing the part of a kid--had politely ask if she could feel her pregnant belly. When Conan had touched Sally's supposedly pregnant belly, he hadn't felt any movement within. "Must be sleeping" was Sally's conclusion.
Now, Sally Radcliffe was standing somewhat near the door to the office, trying not to be noticed while she slowly inched her way towards the door. When Conan's dart had missed its target and hit the wall with a very faint sound, Sally glanced in the direction at where the dart had hit the wall. Conan quietly cursed a word when he missed with the dart. Without that dart, Sally Radcliffe would go free! Nobody would listen to a kid like Conan.
"Am I free to go?" asked Sally. "it's getting late and I'm awfully sleepy"
Inspector Meguire glanced at Richard in hopes that he would suddenly solve the case as usual. But it seemed that the great Richard Moore was too busy chatting up the pretty vice president of the chemical company--who was probably twenty years younger than Richard. Meguire sighed before turning his attention to Sally. "Well, since we don't have any evidence against you, you might as well go"
Conan rushed through the crowd of people--bumping into Rachel along the way--until he was right in front of Sally and blocking the door with his small body. Sally looked down at Conan. "Out of my way, you little brat"
"You can't leave" said Conan, his voice stern. "we haven't found a----arrrgh!!!"
Conan was lifted off the floor bodily by Rachel, who had walked over and picked up the little kid known as Conan. "Can't you see that she couldn't be the murderer? How can a pregnant woman murder anyone?" While this was going on, Sally had slipped out of the office. Conan tried to explain that Sally wasn't pregnant but Rachel was having none of it. Soon after, Inspector Meguire had let everybody in the room go since there was no hard evidence. Conan knew that there was some evidence, but nobody would take him seriously. This was one case that was unsolvable. Rachel had put Conan in the car and left him there while she looked for her father. Conan brooded in the backseat until he glanced out of the window and saw Sally Radcliffe walking behind the car. She was heading for a car that was parked right behind Richard's car. Sally got into her car, closed the door and picked up a cellphone on the seat next to her. She dailed a number and waited, starting her car in the meantime. Someone must've answered because Sally started to talk to the phone. Sally really wasn't paying attention to Conan, who had sneaked out of Richard's car and tiptoed his way to her car and was listening at the driver's door.
"Yeah, I'm all done in this dimension" said Sally. "and I got the formula for your experiment. No, there wasn't any trouble. I tested the formula myself and it works...there's a young man in my belly. So, What's my next job? Oh....that should prove interesting. When am I.......right now? I'm tired. I've been at this for 12 straight hours now. Do you realize how much......oh, alright. Where are you going to open the portal then? That's six blocks from here, right? Okay, I'll be there in about ten minutes"
Conan puzzled over what he overheard. Dimension? Portal? What is going on here?
