"Before you decide my fate," Inuyasha said. "Could you tell me how I died?"

The woman frowned slightly. "I'm sorry. But only those granted access can have their questions answered."

"Come on! Just this one!"

The woman sighed and turned a few pages in the book She turned it around and Inuyasha saw a beautiful ink drawing of Shippo. To his surprise, it began to move! Inuyasha watched as Shippo clenched his fists in anger then ran off the page.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Inuyasha asked, eyes narrowed.

The woman tapped the picture, near the bottom. Inuyasha leaned closer and saw an ink drawing of himself, with X's for eyes and laying flat in a giant foot print.

"WHAT?!?!?!? HE STEPPED ON ME?!?!?!?!? WHY THAT NO GOOD--"

"ANYWAY!" The woman interupted, turning the book back around. "You're dead and that's all that matters. Now what is your name?"

"Inuyasha."

"Hmm...A demon eh? Usually we just send demons to hell, but you're a strange case. Half demon...performed good deeds...slain hundreds of demons...hmmm...Yes it looks like you've been accepted."

The woman turned to the giant gates and inserted a key into a small keyhole near the center. The gates swung open with a melodius chime and the woman held out her arm.

"Welcome tired soul. Your resting place awaits."

Inuyasha frowned and stood fast.

"Look, I'm flattered that you're letting me in, but I can't die yet. We still haven't found the last jewel shard and I haven't gotten revenge on Naraku yet!"

The woman's arm dropped and she said, "I see. Many innocents may die if Naraku isn't stopped...Very well. Consider this a near death experience. You won't remember anything you've seen here when you return to earth."

The woman closed the large book and said, "Farewell Inuyasha. Keep to the right path and I will see you again."

She flung out her hand and Inuyasha felt a sudden deep sleep come over him. His soul rushed down from the gates and back into his body on earth. He slowly opened his eyes and groaned. The sutra was off of his mouth and his body was no longer paralyzed. He looked around and saw Shippo getting ready to fight with a strange demon boy. A cursory glance at the ground and he saw Kagome and Sango, held by Miroku, running towards the fight.
