Inuyasha looked around and was surprised to see a ver plain, simple office. A desk was in the middle of it and there were pictures covering every wall, each of a different man. Below each picture was a small caption that had a name, age, and date on it. Inuyasha looked up and saw even more pictures covering the ceiling. One that caught his eye in particular had a huge X over it. It appeared to be of a young man with brown hair, the word Jr stamped across his forehead, and with what appeared to be a pacifier in his mouth. Inuyasha didn't know quite what to think of this. Suddenly, a voice said, "You know, it's rude to ignore someone."

His eyes snapped down and he saw a small girl with violently pink hair staring at him. She pointed at the foot of her desk and a chair appeared out of nowhere. Inuyasha took the hint and sat down. The girl kept staring at him for awhile then said, "So you're Inuyasha."

"Yeah, and?" Inuyasha said rudely.

Washu laughed and said, "Not many people talk back to the Goddess of the Universe. But then again, ignorance is bliss I suppose."

Inuyasha didn't say anything. He just glowered at her. Washu raised and eyebrow and said, "But we don't really have time for this do we? No." She said before Inuyasha could reply. "I allowed you up here because of what Cassie told me. A long line of souls, stretching beyond sight is one of the signs of Armageddon."

"You mean the end of the world?" Inuyasha said surprised. "How?"

"This throws back all the way to the Dark Ages of the Multiverse." Washu said cryptically.

"Okay, so what the hell is the Dark Ages of the Multiverse?" Inuyasha asked, annoyed.

Washu folded her hands and said, "This is going to take awhile, so get comfortable. Now let's see...the Dark Ages of the Multiverse began when all the men were kicked into Hell. The disorder that caused weakened the barriers that seperate the Universes causing untold destruction and death. Then, with the Universes in total chaos, a cabinet of evil was formed. All the most ruthless humans, demons, and monsters banded together with seven of the most evil at their head. Together, they sought to control all Universes, to bend them to their will. They succeeded somewhat, but before things could get too out of hand, a group of seven rose to oppose them. I was, of course, at the head. Unfortunately, I needed that two timing bastard Koenma's help, so he was there too. You can imagine my fury at having to ask for his help after imprisoning him in Hell not two days earlier. Anyway, we managed to overthrow them after a harrowing battle. We fought across the Universes, our size flucuating, our strength changing, our forms fluid. It was crazy I can you tell you that! Finally, we managed to defeat them and fix the barriers around the Universes. Life continued on, the Universes were safe, and we all thought we'd seen the last of major troubles. But a prophecy was made that no one but me knew about that was made a few weeks after the crisis was averted. The prophecy mentioned a strange occurence that would signal the end of all Universes. That was the arrival of a demon in Heaven that would be loyal enough to guard the Gates. Having imprisoned all demons in Hell, I didn't think I had anything to worry about. But now you've shown up. A demon. Who stayed to guard the Gates."

"Hey, I didn't exactly have a choice!" Inuyasha said angrily. "That Gatekeeper of yours said she could bring me back to life if I guarded the Gates for an hour! It's not like I planned on making it a permenant job!"

"That's irrevelant now. The first sign of the prophecy has been fullfilled and the rest will surely come true. Now, until it happens, I can't tell anyone what the signs are, but I can assemble another team to block the coming threat. I've already got Cassandra working on bringing them in from the different Universes. You'll meet them down at the Gates with this message from me: In order to save the Universes, you must travel through the seven chosen lands. Only then can you defeat your adversaries and find the means to avert catastrophe. That's it. Good luck! I'll be in contact!"

Before Inuyasha could say anything else, Washu pressed a button and sent Inuyasha hurtling backwards, back down to the Gates.
