"Now you can figure that some vores" [you for example] "come in here to dine on girls too deep in their books. So you got to watch yourself. Still, it is safer than most other areas on campus. The librarians are willing to serve as guards and chase off someone trying to eat you.
"One special rule you might figure you need to watch out for. You are not to make noise in a library. So don't go yelling for help. The librarian will help your attacker if you do. That makes it a lot safer to study near the front desk where the librarians can see you. If you have to go into the stacks, you are on your own. Naturally, you will need to go into the stacks fairly often."
As you exit the library, you think Candy is puzzled by something. "Got a question?"
"Well, yes... It seems like so many people are ... well, not fully clothed."
You had already noted Candy is rather squeamish about her language. She can't even bring herself to say everybody is nude, much less that they are often jay bird naked. Definitely a difference from outside life, not to mention Candy's own rather conservative dress. But it is easy to explain. "See that lass over there with the big belly?" [Obviously a successful huntress. Indeed, there may be 2 victims in her huge belly.] "How would she get any clothing over that belly? And if she wore any to start with, it would just tear apart under the strain.
"If you are eaten, the conclusion is the same. Either your devourer will take them off and you have to go to a lot of trouble to find them again, only to find they got torn in the process. And if you are not stripped, the damage to your clothing is much worse, if anything survives at all.
"All in all, most of us figure we might as well not bother with clothing. It just gets in the way."
"I see..." Clearly she does not see it well enough to shed what she is wearing, but she does lose some of the shocked look she has had as a steady feature.
"OK, now over there is the zoo. There are a lot of creatures that can vore, and we keep a collection of them. They can be quite interesting, but we won't be going there today. They often feed visitors to the creatures, so it is best to visit in large groups."
After you point out a few other places of interest, you head back to the main building, wondering what part of it to show first. Where will this story go next? Your choices are below...
