Your hope of reaching the magic room proves optimistic... several times. You in fact lose tract of how many times you two get stopped, and eaten in various ways. Sometimes you get frustratingly close and if things had just been a little different...

"You would sneeze just then..."

"Yeah? Well, you did open that door without listening..."

"Well, what do you expect? The previous time, you listened so long, we got grabbed from the rear."

"So... You..."

A few more accusations and Failiel is breaking down in tears, which is a powerful weapon. You kiss the tears away and apologize "Look, I'm sorry. I did get you into this." [Well, you aren't innocent, but Failiel had made some mistakes of her own. Still, this does not seem the time to mention that.] "But we are in it, and we have to get along. So buck up. We'll make it this time."

Actually you barely get out the door before you are once again on the way to some girl's belly , but the next time you are only met by women who have already eaten you and you finally reach the magic room, a joyful sight, tho your entry loses all dignity when you hear somebody approaching. In fact you both end up sprawled on the floor inside the room. Not for long. You jump back up and slam the door, trying to bar the door with your body, at least until you realize that is useless. You are the lowest of the low, and any of the lasses can simply order you to open the door and come out to be lunch and you can only obey... Unless Laura has different ideas.
While she looks amused at your panic, she gives no sign she intends to protect you, quite the contrary. "Now we can't have our slaves getting the idea they can escape their work or punishment. So if somebody knocks, you are going to open the door...unless... I do like the idea of the great Failiel begging at my feet. So maybe if you beg hard enough...maybe the door stays closed."
Failiel looks panicked and disgusted, but that all of you work to get back here could go to waste... She looks at the door with fear and then back, and looks at the door again. Thankfully there is no knock.

"Well, perhaps another time..." Laura says, with what sounds like a sigh. "But I have been doing some research on your binding. I haven't found anything all that definite about your case, Failiel, but I definitely found enough to say you were very brave, or very stupid, in trying this. I suppose it just looked like an easy A to you, but I wouldn't try it unless I was in danger of flunking."

"Well...I wasn't doing that badly..." Failiel halfway admits. "But everything was so hard... And it did promise so much...Which was true. I just sailed thru the rest of the year, and I've done great ever since."

"And now the bill has come due." Laura interjects. "And we don't know the size or the terms. Well, some experimenting should settle some of that. Let's get to work."
