Lady Alice of Tweksbury is not one who is likely to place her faith in the power and might of a legend, in this case Warlord Gage Valemont, the infamous Royal Rogue. But as her father is determined to marry her off she finds that she is left with little choice and one other despicable alternative.

Gage did not believe the rumors of her incredible beauty but is more interested in her vast dowry that accompanies her name as it is the money that will help restore his estates to their former glory. However he is greatly disturbed and distressed when he soon discovers that not only is she as beautiful as the rumors claim, but she is more so. Gage is plagued by a curse that has haunted his family for the past two generations: Let beauty be your weakness and love your eternal doom.

As Gage struggles to try and resist the urges that are overcoming him, as each day passes his desire for Alice continues to grow. Gage must learn to battle his ancient deamons as an unseen force threatens to tear them apart forever.
