Quite simply, you were frightened, so much so that you instinctivly shuffled over the coil that was loosely around your back, turned around and fled.

Destiny pouted, she let you get a few meters distance then followed you, she didn't seem to be running... well, slithering at full pace and she was still keeping up with you as you looked back whilst heading towards the treeline not far from the beach.

"Hey, come back, I don't like fast food." She said giggling as her snake body slid over your footprints only a second or two after they had been created.

You looked back in horror, the trees weren't far now but she was gaining. "Stay away!!" You yelled out in desperation.
