You carry on for several hours pulling usable wood from the forest and dragging it on to the beach.

While taking a breather you look around estimating how much you have to work with and realize that you have a lot more than you need.

Figuring that there's really no reason as to not build large raft you decide to do just that and thus make a larger raft than you had planned.

And you're not a complete idiot so you start building it close to the sea, so that you don't have to push it far to get it into the water.

A while later you have a sturdy raft that is so big you have trouble moving it. But before you launch it into the water you gather what else you might need. A few sturdy poles to propel your craft forward with, (You take three in case they break.) a couple of pointy sticks to use as spears or harpoons or what ever you'd like to call it, your trusty sharp rock and a good length of vines that you fasten to the raft in case you need it.

You consider looking for a stone to use as an anchor but decide it's probably a waste of time and start pushing your craft into the water.
