You go inland and apart from a few plantlife you have never seen or heard of before find nothing of interest, no food, no friends and no water.

Hours pass but you have no way to tell how long. In the distance, you hear screaming, you don't think it is one of your friends but you run towards it all the same. (aren't you the hero)

A clearing is up ahead in the direction of the screams and as the trees and foilage stop so do you. You can't believe what you are seeing. A village can now be seen just barely but that's not where the screams are coming from. A man is bound to a log, he is held underneath it as it is carried by ten other men and a woman leading the group, scattering petals in her wake in which you assume is a ritualistic activity.

The man carries on screaming, he obviously isn't a willing part of whatever ceremony was being carried out...
