This choice: Lauren has reached for you faster than you'd imagined possible | Go Back Chapter 13: Lauren's Faster (ID #578103) an addition by: rugbyguilt ![View fbblover's Portfolio. Her body seems to stretch for miles from your view point, giving you all the more reason to flee.
As you begin to move, however, Lauren's hands, which were miles away from you only a few moments before, suddenly close in on your position, the speed with which they travel mind boggling. They surround you, trapping you in a makeshift prison for the time being.
"Okay, little bug," Lauren says, as she lifts one hand and curls it into a fist high in the air. "It's time to die." You see the shadow of her hand cover you in its darkness and you think back to your childhood to remember all the bugs you used to crush. If this was, perhaps, Karma's way of giving you payback.
In a last ditch effort to save yourself, you start to climb up Lauren's other hand, your plan being that if she was afraid of bugs, like you hoped, maybe she would get scared and fling you far away. It was risky, but if you could escape this situation with your life, it would be worth it.
As you pass the index finger, however, you don't hear the usual screams that usually accompany someone who is afraid of bugs. Instead, you hear only a faint chuckle. You look far up to see Lauren grinning down at you.
Suddenly, the hand you're standing on leaves the ground. You struggle to stay upright, or at least prevent yourself from falling off. In a few moments, you're staring into the massive face of Lauren, as she sits up and crouches on her knees. She looks you over, her warm breath cascading over your minuscule body. You try to get her attention, but even at this range, your higher-pitched voice cannot be heard.
Lauren has a predatory glare on her face, as if she's sizing up her prey, or in this case, you. Suddenly, she breathes in deeply and hits you with the full force of her exhale. You struggle to stay on her hand, but it's like trying to fight against a Category 5 hurricane. You tumble off, looking for anything to grab on to so you can slow your descent somehow.
But there's nothing. Nothing but grass as far as the eye can see and the ground, which you are zooming towards faster and faster with each passing second.
