Helene's Master lay in a pool of his own blood. He had been run through by a lightsaber. The child had been brutally attacked and was no longer recognizable.

Juno stood up carefully. He had a minor gash in his side, but had not lost much blood.

"Master Lucilius tried to save the child, but the dark knight was too fast for him. After Master Lucilius failed, I managed to fight off the attacker, and just like what happened to you, he disappeared." Juno groaned with pain.

"Who is he? You said you were following him."

"He's a rogue jedi. He took the jedi trials and was failing. Somehow, he joined the dark side of the force, as he could not succeed any other way. The Jedi Council thinks there was another dark knight who recruited him, a Sith left over since the time of the Empire."

"He must be the reason the Jedi Council was uneasy about letting me take the trials." Helene told Juno the whole story about the council's decision to deny her from entering the trials.

"Interesting," Juno said, wrapping a bandage around his wound. "The Jedi Council fears another menace like Darth Sidious. Perhaps they are also embarassed that they did not foresee the new threat."

Helene helped Juno bandage his wound. "What can we do now?"

"Look for this dark knight. He will likely attack again. He seems to be interested in you."

"Me? Why?"

"Perhaps he thinks you will join him in taking revenge against the jedi."

"That's preposterous. I would never join the dark side, no matter what the jedi do to me."

"But he doesn't know that. Maybe you need to leave him a sign that you are willing to discuss an alliance with him. And then we move in and kill him."

"What sign?"

"I have an idea," Juno said, smiling.

Helene could already sense a new disturbance in the force. The dark knight was nearby.
