This is a hard scifi story, so no Star Trek ultratech: transporters, shields etc. Take modern tech and make it better (ie spaceships feel like modern subs) and add a few techs we nearly have today, and Wormhole Generators, the new invention taking Mankind to the stars.

Feel free to take this story anywhere but there are two things to keep the same: Tech (even aliens) should stay as hard scifi. 2nd, if you're going to write something, try to be consistent with previous entries in that thread.
