The Mayan people actually lived in the region as early as 200 B.C., but the temples were constructed in three time periods, beginning in 600 A.D.Photo: Altun Ha This archeological/cultural site is around a one hour drive from Belize City (by bus).Photo: Sculpture I took this picture from the bus as we drove through Belize City. Sorry about the rain drops, but I completely dug the sculpture.
