So many of us check our portfolios, give ourselves little pats on the back for the number of times our items have been read, but groan that nobody rated them. Sure, there may be some valid reasons why your items aren't rated: visitors to the site who aren't members; computer crashes; multiple visits from one reader, who comes back and links you to friends--or in a newsletter; or any host of reasons. But there are some who click, read, and leave without rating.
