Poll Question: |
| This is a simple yes or no question. The way I see it, there are only two possible answers. So here's the scenario:
You find a magic lamp, and the genie inside offers you three wishes (with me so far? ) These wishes, like all wishes, come with a condition. However, it's not your standard condition. You can wish for more wishes if you want, or for love, money, social power, or to raise the dead. But to be honest, that's limiting yourself. Stretch your imagination. There are no tricks behind these wishes. If you can imagine it, you can have it. If you wish for power, and to you that means you become the next Superman, that's what you get.
Sounds fantastic, right? You're probably saying, 'sign me up'. But I said there's a rule, and there's only one. In exchange for these three wishes, you must surrender everything outside the confines of your own home. Your entire past. It doesn't mean they die, or are destroyed, or lose anything else at all. It just means that you never existed there. The remainder of your family has no memory of you. Your work history, school history, and social history cease to exist. And that's the only thing you can't wish to get back. You will not be given the power to undo this condition. If you'd like to go recreate these things starting today, that's fine. But you can't go back, and you can't make people remember you. You and the people you take with you in your house are the only people who get to keept that.
With that explained, here's my question:
If you could have three wishes, but you had to completely surrender your past for them, would you take the wishes? |
