Poetry and Lyrics
Poetry, old and new, from prompts and not; and lyrics written for reading, not for music..

I first began writing poetry as a teenager in order to express feelings that would otherwise have been muted in deep silence.

Many years went by after marriage and bearing children when I left my poetry behind during my search for other things.

With a push from one of my wonderful groups ("Invalid Item), I began again in 2004 and wonder why I allowed anything to push it aside.

Teenage attempts are here, along with recent thought-pourings. Beware, I like free verse and tend to be abstract.

The lyrics you find here are written for inclusion in my novels that deal with music. I have not yet learned to play an instrument well enough to write music for them. Maybe some day I will.

I haven't written poetry since I was a teen, but here are a few of my better attempts.
