About the Folder

Although most of my works can be read the same way long after they are originally created, some are written about current events, and once those current events become past events, the items decrease in relevance. However, since I don’t want to delete such pieces altogether, they’ll find a new home here.

About the Items

"A Cat-astrophic Proposal [13+]:
Mark Smith of La Crosse, Wisconsin, proposed that any cat in that state seen without a collar and not under anyone’s direct control be fair game for hunters. I highlighted the likely consequences of this idea, as well as pointed out that there was no indication that this would solve the feral cat problem it intended to correct in the first place.

"Kraken for Kerry [ASR]:
Want to hear all the reasons that George W. Bush shouldn’t have been reelected? Well, there are plenty, but you’ll have to locate them elsewhere, because there’s no mudslinging here. This editorial explains my decision to elect John Kerry in 2004 from a more positive angle.
