My first recognition was an anonymous upgraded membership in August, 2006 after reviews for "Hidden Flower, the poem that will always be my first award winner at Writing.Com.

My first poem to be awarded, and a first place at that, was "The Evergreen in the weekly Poetry Prizm contest. It earned an Awardicon in the Beauty of Nature contest from buttery388 on Nov. 1, 2006. Thank You, Annalynne!

animatqua enshrined "Before I'm Rejected By You in her folder of favorites, and awarded me my first awardicon ribbon. THANK YOU, Barb!

"Scripted and "Journey's End were awarded in the 41st and 42nd weeks of the Weekly Newbie Challenge, also in September (2006).

"Flower Of My Memory has received two recognitions: In the last week of September, the weekly Picky Poetry contest. And a merit badge from Jessica at RAOK. And an Awardicon from kelly1202.

"A Better Love Tomorrow My first award for October! Iva Mae's Nostalgia contest, which also received 2nd place in the Picky Poetry Contest for the first week of October.

"Iron and Ore won first place in Iva Mae's Nostalgia contest for the month of November. And also captured a merit badge to go with the 15,000-point grand prize. The contest has since been suspended because of Iva's health. My thoughts and prayers go to her.

"Wait For Snow won first place in the weekly Picky Poetry contest on Dec. 25, 2006.

"The Passing Days also earned recognition from Nikola's Twice Monthly poetry contest in September (2006).

One non-poetry related item: "Fishing With Dad in another contest sponsored by Iva Mae. Thanks Iva & Charles C. I have enjoyed participating in their contests.

Please donate to all of the contests above. Each and everyone is a great place for writer's to showcase their talents and get valuable feedback and recognition. I know now that it takes special people with dedication to make these contests and Writing.Com what they are.
