My mother says that when I get something, when I truly understand it, I can hit it hard... and have plenty of fun doing it! I never really caught onto math, maybe because I didn't try hard enough, but as soon as I caught onto reading and writing in second or third grade I began to do a lot of it. At first, I payed special attention to reading, but the older I became, the more I wrote.

Although I wrote some when I was younger, I was never really serious about it. I was never able to accomplish anything. I think that, had I been able to write faster or been able to at least focus on what I was doing, I would've been able to finish my work; but this never happened. Still, I was interested in writing, and in late 2002 or early 2003 I met someone else in my church who also loved writing. She told me about a place called writing.com. Intrigued, I went to check it out. I signed up as Ariana, but lost my account because I was inactive. Understandable. I just wish I had saved my work! I no longer possess my stories from childhood (though some of them I remember and would like to re-create) or the era of Ariana.



          In April 2005, I remembered this site. Being at a time in my life where I could get back to writing, I signed on again. This time as Emily (a name I have always liked) Logchester (later changed to Logan). Then, someone called me EL, and I started using it. Of course, you can't have a two letter name, so I used ~s to compensate. I came back on with a vengeance. This time determined to find something to be published.

At first I spent a lot of my time, nearly all of my time, reading and reviewing. When I backed off on that, I wanted to see what else could get me gift points for the Upgrade I wanted to get. Along the way, I found out about groups.

One of the groups I found, "RAOK Upgrade Brigade Group"   by Writing.Com Support , gave me a 2 month upgrade. Thank you RAOK! I also joined 2 groups that day; "Writing And Reviewing"   by Vivian Zabel - author and "Healthy Habits Bandwagon"   by SueBear . Later, I joined "The Muse's Alley" . My first group, The Procrastinators Guild, has since been closed due to detrimental procrastination. It was only ever started as a practical joke any ways!

I've learned about some pretty cool stuff here at writing.com (often referred to as WDC). First, I love word searches! They've done some reconfiguring on this site, and I still haven't entirely figured out where to go for my puzzles. I also learned about scrollies, which can be accessed by clicking down on "Member Tools" and going to "IM Console."

While here, I've been in a few contests to try and earn gp for my account. "Daily Flash Fiction Challenge"   by arakun the twisted raccoon as well as a few others, since gone from the site. I've even gotten an Honorable Mention in "Daily Flash Fiction Challenge"   by arakun the twisted raccoon , and recieved a purple ribbon for my piece "A Right to Matter"   by ~EL~ Merry Christmas! from VerySara through a contest she hosted.

God is always first in my life. Family is close behind, followed by work (ie:writing). I love God, you may catch me praying to Him on a typical day, and I make sure that I have daily devotions. I also enjoy spending my time with other believers. God is my life. Where would I be without Him?

My family comes next. I am a wife to a great man. He's been a real blessing ever since High School and it is my ambition to honor him. While I have children, I do not speak of them often any more becauseLONG story for another time. You can read more about him in "Ben" .

Of course, I have the writer's dream of one day being published. I would like to be able to write a page-turner that people will enjoy. In the meantime, I enjoy hanging around WC and writing when I can. What I've talked about here on my map is, of course, not everything in my port, but it gives you a good start as well as letting you know about some of the things I like here at WDC. So feel free to poke around and see what else I have to offer!
