This is a deer trail through my port. If at any time you get lost, or wish to wonder off from the group just look for an image and click It. There will also be links in the form of pictures to bring you back.

If you place your mouse over any picture it will tell you where in my port "clicking it" will take you.

I hope you wore your hiking boots. If not ..don't worry,I'll build you a pair. Where I come from you have to be self-reliant or you won’t last very long.

My world is a little different from yours. I have only a few rules:

Please

*Flower1* Stay on the trails! This is for YOUR safety as well as the forest. Feet crush plants and bugs. I have an agreement with the bigger animals, bears, cougars and others, please don't violate that trust.
*Flower2*Pack it out! Litter will not be tolerated. Violators will be punished. I will do the same to your yard.
*Flower3*Leave it in! Each plant, animal, and rock has its value in nature. Please don't pick, catch, remove, or collect natural items. The only things you may take are pictures and memories.
*Flower4*Keep pets leashed and on trails! Pets can disturb and harm wildlife - and sometimes other visitors, too!

If for any reason you can't abide by the rules; please wait for the next bus and return to "Invalid Item Thank you.

It's not as frightening as it may look around here. Just stay with me and you will be safe. Do you know that bears can smell ten times better than any dog including blood hounds? And they ear better too. That is why you rarely see a bear in the wild. They don't WANT you to. The best thing you can do is wear bells or speak loudly let them know you are there and they will leave you alone. Usually.

We moved to these mountains when I was very young. This is where my grandmother was raised. There’s a mountain not far from here that bears her name. It’s called Bessie Rock. The view from there is amazing. But, never mind that now. Shall we start walking? We can chat along the way.

Oh look. There’s Daisy and her family. I knew Daisy since the day she was born. She and her twin brother were born down by the creek. Her mother used to think the fawns were hidden in the tall grass but I could see them easily from my perch in a tree near- by. Her mother wandered off and I watched the twins stand up on wabbly legs.

We are approaching a point in our journey when you will need to put on some bug repellent. I prefer the nets and bug resistant clothing but you can use "off" or something like that.

When we begin to go down hill, turn your toes out and dig your heels in. You can keep your balance better that way. If you don't...well I'll see you at the bottom of the canyon.
