CATHARSIS

Welcome to Catharsis, a group of random poems that serve one purpose: to clear the cobwebs out of my head and get some words down on paper. I wrote these after two very painful breakups, one of which happened when I was in the middle of writing my undergraduate thesis in History. These were mostly written down on a piece of paper that I kept next to me in case I couldn't think. Soon, the paper was filled.

One of these guys happened to be a poet, and he wrote me a series of awful lines one night when we were both drunk and he'd just confessed something pretty terrible to me. I decided to copy these poems down on the pages he left with me, with the intention of giving it back to him one day.

Now, after looking at these poems again and realizing that they, too, are pretty terrible, I'll most likely never give it back to him. Nonetheless, this is my catharsis, completely raw and untouched, just as it came out of my mind.
