*Heart* *Heart* *Heart*

So, I love my husband, Eric. (i know, i know. awww)

We were married on March 29, 2002 in Oakland, CA. We met on July 26th, 2001. His sister was my best friend, and soon after I met her, she became intent on Eric and I "hooking up" once he came home from his mission (we're LDS).

A while after she determined to do this, I saw his picture up on the church
missionary board, and I had this amazing lightning bolt sort of revelation that this was
"the one."

I know: sounds odd, right? But it's completely true.

That was in February of 2001. Six months later, we met. He finally got up the nerve to ask me out in September 2001 (I was actually at his house on 9/11). A week later, we discussed marriage; a month later, he proposed.

No, it's not something I'd suggest to anyone; I'd probably flip out if my daughter came to me in sixteen years and said, "Hey, Mom, I met this guy a month ago and we're getting married," but that's how we did it. Completely uncharacteristic for either one of us, really.

So here we are, six years later, still going strong. We've gone through our trials, just like anyone else, but we're committed. We have every intention to be an old couple walking down the street in fifty years, holding hands.

Why am I telling you this? Because he's the inspiration for all of my current poetry/prose pieces, and background always helps. Especially if you read "Like Breathing."

I hope you'll enjoy each of these poems. Please let me know your impressions! I always love receiving feedback.
