Hannah has been a member of Writing.Com since she joined on December 7, 2007. She hails from west central Wisconsin where she lives with her husband, Randy, and their two dogs, two cats and fifteen chickens. She is a mother and the grandmother of eleven grandchildren! She writes a little bit of everything. She also likes to draw, paint murals, garden, read and visit with her kids and grandchildren.
Hannah is best known for her connection to "The Paper Doll Gang Home Page" , which she founded in December of 2008. The Paper Doll Gang is a group dedicated to helping Newbies to first learn WDC navigation and basic reviewing skills, then those moving on to the Advanced class, to succeed in their writing aspirations. As a matter of fact, Hannah is so busy with the Paper Doll Gang, that she barely has time for writing.
Hannah's original Rising Stars Sponsor is Gab-Celebrating WDC's 11th , and Hannah herself is the Rising Stars Sponsor to eight Rising Stars (nine, counting her "honorary" Rising Star). She says: "I wish I could spoil them as much as they deserve it. Being a Rising Star Sponsor is a great privilege, especially to the Stars I now have." She's decided to not take on any more Stars so that she can do more for the Stars that she does have. As a matter of fact, Hannah is so proud of her Rising Stars, that she has created some special pages just for them, which she'd like to share with us:
"Hannah's Stars are Shining Group"
"Catch a Rising Star Contest"
"Hannah's Stars are Shining Group"
One of Hannah's Rising Stars, Phoenix had this to say:
Hannah is a very helpful Sponsor. She regularly hosts a Stars Only Contest to provide her Rising Stars writing challenges, helping us to grow and stretch. She has continually encouraged my writing and personal endeavors, offering kind words regularly. She has helped me by sponsoring my contests, reviewing some of my work, and providing feedback when I've requested it. Not only that, but she's made me feel special by choosing me from a full class of Paper Doll Gang Newbies, bestowing ribbons on some of my work, and offering kind comments and feedback when reviewing me. When I ran a contest for my final challenge of the PDG Newbie Group, she contributed a very generous GPS donation an agreed to help judge. She's a very generous woman who openly gives a lot of time to all of her Rising Stars, as well as the Newbies of the PDG. Hannah contributes a great deal to the community feel of this virtual address, and I think she deserves a great deal of thanks for that.
Another of Hannah's Rising Stars, Sticktalker said this:
Hannah is not only my sponsor the Rising Stars, but has become my closest friend here on WDC. I met her when I was still a seventh-month-old WDC newbie and enrolled in her very first Paper Doll Gang Newbie class. Both of us are long away from being teens or even "young adults" and we clicked right off. I became a leader in her gang before the newbie class was over and then she asked me to be her co-leader for the Dolls.
It's hard to say exactly how much Hannah has helped me learn and improve my writing here on WDC, but she has been very supportive and helpful in my writing growth over the past three years. Just recently I ran into a serious health problem and she has been there also, offering advice and encouraging me in that struggle.
I know it doesn't happen happen very often on WDC, but we've exchanged not only real names, but home addresses and phone numbers and do communicate that way on occasion.
Hannah is just a super-duper outstanding individual in my book and even when we strongly disagree on something, it never becomes personal; it's just a disagreement between very good friends.
Congratulations, Hannah!
One more of Hannah's Rising Stars, PLScholl2 (A.K.A. Pepper) had this to say:
I still remember when Hannah first sponsored me as a Rising Star. I was speechless. I could not believe that someone would have that much faith in my writing; in many ways she seemed to have more faith in my writing than I did. Hannah even liked my poetry. *Smile* Since that day, Hannah has become a wonderful friend and mentor. Without her, I'm not sure I would have stuck with my writing, nor had the courage to leave a teaching career to pursue writing full time. Words simply cannot express the depth of encouragement and support that Hannah offers her Rising Stars, and in our book, that makes her the real Star!
And last, but not least, we heard from her most recent Rising Star, DarkHuntress~wedding planning! , who told us:
When I first came to WDC I was lost in a sea of possibilities. There were so many things to do, so many people, I had no idea where to begin or how to start making friends here. I wondered if I had made the right decision inn signing on in the first place. Then I found the Paper Doll Gang (rather, it found me), and Hannah became one of my first real friends here. She took me under her wing, made me a Doll, showed me around the place and gave me the tools I needed to succeed. Without her guidance and friendship I would not be the confident member I am today, doing for others what she did for me. Hannah has many friends, like me, who would do anything for her because they know she would do anything for them. I have never met anyone as selflessly generous in spirit as she is, nor anyone more determined to help others at all costs. I could not have asked for a more supportive and kindhearted Sponsor, and I feel so very blessed to know her.
*Note* We'd like to thank Hannah for being our "Sponsor in the Spotlight." To show our appreciation, Hannah will be receiving a "Mingling Melodies Pack" from the "The Rockin PDG Gifting Station" .
She will also be receiving the "Rising Stars Sponsor in the Spotlight Award" crafted especially for her:
