Introduction
I love the short format for fiction.
It strikes me as much more flexible – more wide open – than novels. The shorter the story, the more you can experiment. Fun stuff!

         I love the written word.
As you read these stories, I hope you'll lose yourself in a literary excursion. In keeping with that love of our language, I seek to employ evocative imagery, to paint a picture in the reader's mind. I seek also to both challenge and satisfy you with a well-turned phrase, some elevated prose. Please let me know if I have failed to do so. Finally, I take pride in employing proper grammar and structure, for: Dear Gentle Reader/Writer, a story improperly written is as a house improperly built – it will not stand the test of time.

         I love the human mind.
More specifically, I love the mystery of it – its frailty, its function, its capacity. For example, your mind is capable of bending time to your will. Don’t believe me? Think of your dreams. If you're anything like me, you've lived entire lifetimes within fifteen-minute dreams. The 4th dimension unravels when deep within your slumbers.
During the course of your life, your mind will ride a roller coaster of psychological and emotional states. It is vulnerable to inputs ranging from dread and terror to hope and joy, from fear and horror to love and humor, from anger and resentment to desire and compassion, from injury and substance abuse to a warm touch and a soft kiss.
The worst of these can rip your personal world to bloody shreds, and yet your mind is capable of pulling you from the storm and returning you to safe ground. Usually. The best of these can make you pray for immortality, lest Heaven on Earth escapes your grasp.
In medical terms, the human mind is the final frontier. For all doctors and scientists have learned about it in recent years, they've barely scratched the surface.
Thus, I love to examine those mysteries of the human mind in my stories, and I do so several times in the collection below. Join me on the mind-bender.

I have more to offer – more interests, more subjects, more examinations of life on this Earth. While exploration of the mind is a common theme here, you'll find also innocent reminiscences of childhood, fantasy, adventure, horror, and more. I hope you find in these stories intrigue, suspense, laughter, absurdity, thrills and chills.
So kick off your shoes and put your feet up, grab a cup of coffee or tea or brandy (Why not?), and leave the mundane workaday stresses behind. Let your imagination lead you on this journey into both the recognizable and the unknown.

I offer Auto-Reward Gift Points for all reviews of 250+ characters, for some stories more than others, and I happily send additional points for particularly thorough and thoughtful reviews. Although I love to hear how wonderful my work is (Don't we all?), I prefer an honest review above all else. So please, never feel you must pull any punches when reviewing my work. Besides, I have thick skin. *Smile*

Please enjoy!
