Element is the story of eight teenagers - the Eight, oddly enough. They are:

Saf White, narrator. Saf is a Fire elemental and half-demon.

Thomas Greer. Thomas is a Mind elemental, son of the President and Saf's boyfriend.

Amie DuBois. Water elemental.

Danni Hall. Air elemental.

Kay Madigan. Earth elemental.

Carlos Ramirez, an Immortal.

Luke Daley, also an Immortal.

And Jake White, Immortal, half-demon and Saf's twin.

Element will be a trilogy. I hope to have Hybrid finished by the time I graduated high school.

I will be doing Hybrid for NaNo this year. I decided I didn't like what I'd already written. As an exercise in character development, I will be doing monologues for each character you see above. Saf's is below; more will follow at entirely random intervals. I may do more than one for each character - definitely more than one for Saf. She is, after all, my narrator and to write the story I need to "become" her (a dangerous pasttime).

The woman in the image, for the record, is my version of Fate: a woman named Moira. In the story she is a little older and described by Saf as a "cantankerous Scotswoman with no appreciation for good strategy". Long story.
