the reflections of love gone, and hoping not to be forgotten
"Forget Me Not"

Oh say it to me, I shall not ask.
The touch of this petal, so soft.
Gentle are your words written on my heart.

Sadly, I remember your love,
which now has gone to another.

I am now a forgotten dream you once had,
now gone from you.

As a flute sounds in the distance, I am walking away
up through the hills where forget-me-nots grow, hoping
not to be forgotten.

For the moment a tender kiss, a softly spoken smile,
a sadden tear upon my cheek, a hug that held me close,
warm, and sensuous, now passion died away, desire setting alone.

Weaken by my grief, my heart cries.
Would that I had wings as a butterfly, flitting from one flower
to the next, happy in its time; then slowly falling asleep.
