Slurring his words, the druken sailor cursed the police officer as he was escorted to the investigation room.

Blue, strobing lights streamed across the filled parking lot as the military police car peeled out toward the group of marines involved in beating one another to a bloody pulp.

The shrill fire alarm shrieked in the night, signaling a possible emergency.

A worn voice across international telephone lines requested the dispatcher to connect it to home.

Weary to the bone, muscles knotted and eyes drooped as the dispatcher made her way to the silver, compact car in the cracked concrete parking lot.

Three dark blue uniformed security guards stood erect, saluting the immaculately dressed commander as he passed.

The acrid stench of vomit overtook the senses of the officer as he checked the student's identification.

Tantalizing aromas of full-bodied, rich dark coffee grounds caused salavia to form in the dispatchers mouths as the coffee brewed.
