Connie Handmaid is a Psychic who lived in Austin, Texas during the 1960s. Connie's Mother (also a Psychic) discovers a death note and asks Connie to her find out who's death is coming. Connie makes the terrifying discovery that her mother is who the death note belongs to and is unable to stop fate. Connie believes that her mother was murdered by a family member, but is unable to prove it. She's forced to run away for her life from her father who doesn't approve of the "pagan" Psychic ways. Connie joins a carnival haunted by the past and other things. While living at the carnival, Connie finds something she never intended to feel again. She falls in love with the mysterious magician. Can she trust her feelings and risk losing her love as well as her mother?
