The plot of this story came to me a few weeks after breaking up with my boyfriend. He suffered a major dose of karma, which I never expected. The main purpose of this story is "what goes around-comes around." Two teenage boys growing-up in a small town in Georgia, during the 1970s begin secretly dating each other and are quite upset that society won't accept them. For revenge, they pretend to date girls in their class and end up treating them horribly. When one of the girls ends up pregnant, their lives change drastically. The boy reluctantly ends up marrying this young woman and hides who he really is from his son. As the years go by, we learn that his son has the exact same secret, but with a twist.
The idea of my story is to always be true to who you really are. As the main character goes through the years, he begins to realize that the horrible pranks he pulled in high school have caught up with him now that he's grown.
I decided that we would go back in time with every other chapter. Ex: Chapter one is set in present time (1992), and chapter two is going back to 1971, chapter three will be 1992, chapter four is 1971. The book ends in 2008, and 1976. Get it?
**FYI-For those who have been following my story I have changed Lucia's name to Frankie. I can't say why because it will ruin the story. If you wish to know the reason, feel free to e-mail me.
The two lessons you should learn from my story:
1.) Be true to who you really are. Don't pretend to be someone you're not because you fear others will reject you.
2.) Choose your actions and words carefully. What goes around--comes around, in ways you least expect. It could be tomorrow, it could happen twenty-years from now to your own children.
With that said, enjoy my story.
This story belongs to me. It has been used in various projects that I've done in school, and I will take legal action if my story is stolen in any way.
My Friend, Josh Jenkins, has made the most amazing cover art for my book! I'll post it when I upgrade my membership in February.
