*Right*IMPORTANT NOTICE!
My whole artgallery here went poof when my membership expired. I'm going to start rebuilding it, but I most likely will not be posting earlier work here that may have previously been here. I'm going to be selective to which art I post here, so visit my wesbite for my full art gallery at http:/StarInMyPocket.net

*Star*I don't claim to be the best, but I love to do art. For the most part, I've always doodled during my life. My dad still has a portfolio of distorted figures. So my art wasn't from any progidy kid at first, but soon it progressed and people noticed. Between the age of 10 and 13, I drew a lot. I'd spend up to two hours on some of my art. Though some are distorted, I'm surprised to say I'm still proud of some. But then, art dropped for about two years. Sure, doodling on napkins occured, but nothing big. I didn't start drawing much until almost a year ago, when I was fifteen. The source of my motivation? The discovery of digital art.

Oekaki really was my first encounter with digital art. An oekaki roughly means "to draw" in japanese and has been the adopted term for digital art done in a small paint program that's attatched to a webpage and hooked up to a personalized message board.

Drawing with a mouse frustrated the heck out of me then, and I couldn't for the life of me figured out how people at the oekaki board could get such CLEAN and amazing pictures. Gradually, I've learned, and the process is pretty natural and fun now. (Though I'm still begging for a tablet for Christmas---a tablet is a digitalized pen and pad that's hooked up to the computer, what you draw on it appears directly onto the screen).

Last December I got Paint Shop Pro, which I was estatic over. So when I refer to digital art, it will be for art done in PSP, and oekakis, though digital, will refer to the ones created at an oekaki board.

Notebook Drawings:
Art done in my trusty notebook which I never go anywere without. Mostly in pen, occassionally in pencil. Dad finally converted me from a lined notebook to a medium sized sketchbook. ^_^ He kept bugging me about having my characters "behind bars"

Traditional: Traditional art done in mediums such as pen, pencil, colored pencils, etc that are NOT done in my notebook. Usually, these are larger with more detail and have been worked on for a much longer time than my average notebook drawing.

And then I also enjoy Manipulating Photos. It's just another form of art to me.

Other places you can find my art;Stargirl.epilogue.net and at StargirlsCreations.homestead.com. Epilogue is a prestigious art site for sci-fi fantasy art. There'es some amazing artists here and all art needs to be approved. I've definitely been influenced by the art here and am striving to get more of my art accepted there. Star's Creations is my section of my larger website (Violet Attitude; VioletAttitude.homestead.com), for all my art, writings, tutorials, and so on. Star's Creations will all of my art on it, since I'm too lazy to put everything here at Writing.Com, and also because I don't like resizing some of my art so they fit the limit.

Otherwise known as Favorite Artists. ^_^ All of these are
ones I know from online. I'll add to this list gradually
since there are so many artists I admire.

Cecil
Cecil's art is just BEAUTIFUL. Definite anime
style in many of her art.

Linda Bergkvist

Her art has had the most impact upon me. I can gaze and goggle at her gallery for hours and still be entranced. She does it proffessionally (no wonder!), and is still I believe in the first place at epilogue at being the most popular gallery viewed. An amazing artist.

Aurore Blackcat
A wonderful artist that I admire and know from meo's oekaki board. ^_^ Wonderful style of anime.

Meo24
An artist I have admired for a LONG time. It's her oekaki board that I first went to. Her anime style is very unique and elegant.

[Adama] SagaTotem
Saga Totem is Meo's sister and is just as talented. Her art has some definite likenesses of Meo's, in colors and style, but is still uniquely her own. ^_^
