The children you will meet in these stories meet challenges every day of their lives. Some of the stories are about children I have known while others are based on various children whose characteristics and experiences I have combined and embodied into a single character.

The world can be a harsh place for someone who is "different". When that someone is a child, those challenges can be especially difficult and painful. The children you will meet in this series of stories face such challenges every day of their lives. All of the characters are based on children I have known throughout my life, beautiful, loving individuals I have had the honor to know and the privilege to call my friends.

I wrote these stories with the the hope that families would share them together, discuss them, and learn from them. Please share them with someone you love.
