Ok, so golf is boring and nobody wants to read some hack's journal of his pitiful progress and misfortunes in the game of golf... You might be right. But I started playing this game at 39 years old thinking I would suffer through the afternoon and forget all about it. I haven't stopped playing since then, and I continually want to get better! I've got a lot of work to do if I want to be ready for the Senior Tour some day...

Laugh now, but if I CAN continue to get better, and I think I can -- (you must think you can. You cannot even begin to approach this game if you think you can't play it well...) then my recording this whole process is gonna be really cool to read later!

So, this will be the ongoing chronicle of my progress in the game of golf. I'm writing it partly for it's educational value in helping me be a better golfer, and partly for its value in simply having something familiar to write about. But mostly I'm writing it because I believe that I'll always be playing the game. It will serve not only as a sort of digest of important things for me to recall and think about, but it'll also quite possibly be a very interesting piece of work someday.
