One Winter in Icabon
A story for maturing fans of Madeleine L'Engle's "Wrinkle in Time" Series.

When I read L'Engle's A Wrinkle in Time about two years ago--and the two following sequels A Wind in the Door and A Swiftly Tilting Planet last year--I realized the real possibility for Christian fantasy. A more recent and familiar example of novels in this genre is the Left Behind Series; but stories like Wrinkle seemed more attractive and, even, relatable. There was just something about the fantasy I read throughout middle school that put my imagination into overdrive, and it was this series that proved the best of the bunch. It's sorry hard to find stories at high school now as attractive in their depth and, at times, simplicity.

So, here is my response to this dilemma: I'll write the same type of fantasy for others to enjoy, just as I enjoyed reading Wrinkle and other great novels. As you may accordingly notice, the content of this portfolio is rated PG-13. Well, when you look back to the Breif Description above, it states that this story is for maturing fans of L'Engle's series. There's a gap here trying to be filled between the seventh grade level of Wrinkle and the more adult-themed fantasy, some of which is simply awesome. In a way, two genres are trying to be bridged here--but, please, don't take my word for it!:) If you're interested by now (and I completely understand if you're not), please drop by my "Premise" to see that the plot checks out with you. Then, you may proceed into my strange, intricate version of what L'Engle's novels might've been like if she had written for a slightly older audience...
