Poems of Humanity & Life
What is this shell we call life, and how do we climb out?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Life is but a single cube of ice,
Its molecules entwined
Within a frozen mold.
Happily, it's solidified
In unified strength,
A fortress of courage,
A bastion of edges and points,
Sharp as the knife which cuts.
But alas, it's also unbending
And resistant to soft, tender words.
So if we do not warm it gently,
Holding it in our hand
With firm, but balmy affection,
Sometimes, it's so brittle
That from the merest shock,
It bursts into shattered fragments,
And its nature is utterly destroyed.
