then this novel would never have made it to any print media and instead would only live in my head.

I am an eternal band dork, and for the past two-three years, I have developed a great love for classical music written for the wind ensemble. This novel is the compilation of scenes I've had dancing in my imagination after listening to "British Wind Band Classics"  . These two composers (and friends) have written some of the richest wind ensemble pieces to date, and the titles of this novel's chapters are actually the titles of the pieces they wrote that made it to this CD. The one exception to that is the prologue "Jupiter", which is from Holst's very famous The Planets, a symphonic score inspired by astrology. "Jupiter", while arranged for the wind ensemble, is best heard on strings, but nonetheless is a moving piece that essily depicts transitions between worlds.

The story itself is of a young woman named Chloe. For much of her life, she's wanted to be a matchmaker but had no luck finding her friends dates. While away at college in England, Chloe (a beautiful but stubborn American hailing from Florida) is killed in a car accident. She ascends to heaven and is granted her wish of being a matchmaker (an apprenticeship under the great St. Valentine). However, her first assignment goes horribly wrong, as she is seen by a dashing young man (named Scott) who falls in love with her instead of the girl for whom he's supposed to fall (the sweet, somewhat prudish Maya). Chloe, however, is unaware of this, and her oblivion could lead to her greatest blunder in matchmaking.
