Though marriage is a union of two equal individuals, it is not a relationship which affects both equally. A woman has much higher stakes in marriage. Men are often not able to appreciate this. They are often baffled by the question: Why are women, cross-culturally, almost obsessed by the idea of marriage? [As a matter of fact, women might as well wonder why men are so much obsessed about base ball, formula one cars and cricket].

Men may never find the answer to their baffling question. Or, they might find an answer after a life time. Some, wiser ones, might fathom out the answer while they are still young. They are the luckier ones. I belong to the second category. The answer dawned upon me only during my brooding reflections, after I lost my wife.

I have divided my poems on women's issues into two folders. The present folder relates to women's concerns about marriage. The other folder relates to women's concerns and issues in general. Admittedly, there would be some overlap.
