This is a bustling portion of the courtyard with tents and tiny shacks set up to display wares for sale or trade. The sounds of merchants and customers can be heard all around and the wonderful scents of foods, both local and exotic can make the mouth of the pickiest eater water. Children can also be seen playing between and near their parents who happen to be tending to business.

         Because the marketplace takes up so much area of the courtyard, it is also the place where the Public Forum can be visited. It is a place where topics can be debated, polls taken and even creative writings can be made public. Further on is The Gauntlet, an arena set aside for competitions where people can flaunt their strengths and valiant battles of wits can be witnessed.
