I aimed my flashlight on the dusty old book. Except for the worn edges of the fabric cover, the hardbound was pretty much intact despite the fact that it had been here for decades. I opened it. My heart skipped a beat. I read the first sentence.
"Love is the greatest gift one could ever have."
And once again, red hearts fluttered in my consciousness, the feeling of loving and being loved satiating my own hopeless heart.
