Recently retreated from journalism to find a bit more freedom, I'm struggling through a transition in my style and some big blocks as I try to produce short fiction and poetry. Right now the goal is to get words on paper, but long-term I hope to be professionally published as an author of short stories and poetry. Magazine work may be my next step, but first I have to really get writing! Writing is work, but when it works, it's a joy.
