Alexander Slater's work has been published in the 2006 edition of the Long River Review. The next year he was chosen to be Fiction Editor of the journal and, with the help of his panel, created the best edition to date. He graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Communications, and a concentration in Creative Writing.
