Upon returning from a trip where I had hoped to buy a horror novel from the book store I was surprised to find that I couldn't locate the Horror section. When I questioned the woman on staff I was met with the reply, 'they don't really write horror books anymore'. At that point I decided to take up writing hoping that one day I would have enough skill to be have a story published in a genre that apparently doesn't exist anymore.
