Rain. cold rain trickling down along the arroyos, spackling the junipers ripe with berries, a favorite food of the coyote.
One stipped across my path this morning, fleeing from one juniper copse to the next. A young one, by the looks of it, still too inexperienced to not be seen in the daylight. Too fast for an old desparate coyote.
