I learned to generally write from reading a lot as a child. My sister was a professional writer, nominated for 2 Pulitzers, and is credited with initiating my first sense of professional writing styles. After writing many songs, as a musician/poet/lyricist, esoteric and real would describe my works best - of course, the reader always has prerogative in describing the writer's protocol.
