I left public high school in a squad car & never returned. I started writing poetry in a court school garage at a residential troubled youth program in San Mateo County, CA; I was 17. Our teacher encouraged us to become creative and so I did. She had our works bound into the Serenity Court Journals. I thought that was pretty cool. I've been writing ever since & I still have that garage within me. Thank you Annette. I now live in Northeast Ohio with my teenage son.
