i'm 75 and spent my life having interesting experiences so i could be a writer. now i'm beginning to forget things. thankfully, the act of writing does jog the memory, and writing turns out to be a journey of discovery. i have done lots of scribbling, but only had one small book published. i've had better luck having interesting kids and planting gardens.
